PR #3953 Review Comments - Changes Summary

✅ All Review Comments Addressed

1. Copyright Attribution

  • Changed: Copyright in RmqTlsConfigurator.cs files from Ian Cooper to Darren Schwarz
  • Reason: Per project CLA, copyright defaults to change author
  • Files:
    • src/Paramore.Brighter.MessagingGateway.RMQ.Async/RmqTlsConfigurator.cs
    • src/Paramore.Brighter.MessagingGateway.RMQ.Sync/RmqTlsConfigurator.cs

2. XML Documentation

  • Changed: Removed ALL XML comments from internal classes
  • Reason: Only public types require XML documentation
  • Files: Both RmqTlsConfigurator.cs files

3. License Headers in Tests

  • Changed: Removed license headers from all test files
  • Reason: Project convention excludes license headers from tests
  • Files:
    • When_configuring_mutual_tls_connection.cs (Async & Sync)
    • When_publishing_and_receiving_with_mtls.cs (Async & Sync)
    • When_publishing_with_trace_context_over_mtls.cs (Async & Sync)
    • When_using_mtls_with_quorum_queues.cs (Async & Sync)

4. Code Style - Id.Random()

  • Changed: Replaced all Guid.NewGuid().ToString() with Id.Random()
  • Reason: V10 pattern for message IDs
  • Files: All 6 mTLS test files above

5. Test Organization

  • Changed: Reorganized tests into separate folders
  • Structure: 
    MessagingGateway/
  ├── When_configuring_mutual_tls_connection.cs (unit tests only)
  └── Acceptance/
      ├── When_publishing_and_receiving_with_mtls.cs
      ├── When_publishing_with_trace_context_over_mtls.cs
      └── When_using_mtls_with_quorum_queues.cs
  • Reason: Allows developers to run unit vs acceptance tests selectively

6. Cross-Platform Support

  • Added: tests/generate-test-certs.ps1
  • Reason: Windows developers need PowerShell equivalent of bash script
  • Features:
    • OpenSSL availability check
    • Same functionality as bash version
    • Clear error messages

7. Scope Management - Race Condition

  • Changed: Reverted race condition fix in RmqMessageConsumer.cs
  • Reason: Keep mTLS PR focused; track separately
  • Next Step: Create GitHub issue using RACE_CONDITION_ISSUE.md

🧪 Test Results

All tests passing:

  • Unit tests: 14/14 passed (7 Async + 7 Sync)
  • Acceptance tests: 18/18 passed (9 Async + 9 Sync)
  • Total: 32/32 mTLS tests passing ✅

- Reorganize acceptance tests into separate Acceptance/ folders
- Add PowerShell certificate generation script for Windows developers
- Revert race condition fix (will be addressed in separate issue)
- Update namespaces for moved test files

All review comments from @iancooper addressed.
Unit tests: 14/14 passed
Acceptance tests: 18/18 passed
Total: 32/32 mTLS tests passing"
