Need hardware modification details for Waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-LCD-4.3 non-B USB host

Hello Greg,

I am using the Waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-LCD-4.3 (non-B version) with your TonexOneController project.

I selected this board because your project supports the "Waveshare 4.3 (not B)" platform.

The firmware builds and runs correctly:

• Display works
• Touch works
• ESP32-S3 works normally
• USB Host libraries are included and compiled

However, the Tonex One is not detected through the USB connection.

While investigating, I found in the source code and documentation:

"Waveshare 4.3 (not B) dual USB port board with resistor mod."

I understand that this board requires a hardware resistor modification for USB host support.

I searched the existing documentation and GitHub issues, and I also checked the board physically, but I could not identify the exact modification.

Could you please provide:

1. The exact resistor reference(s) that need to be modified (for example Rxxx).

2. A photo or PCB location showing the modification.

3. Any additional hardware information required for this USB host modification.

I believe the remaining issue is related to the physical board modification rather than software configuration.

Hi Greg, just following up on this question.
I am trying to reproduce the Waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-LCD-4.3 non-B USB Host modification exactly as your project requires.
I confirmed GPIO19/GPIO20 and the USB_SEL/CH422G routing, but I could not identify the hardware modification mentioned in the source code.
Any detail about the resistor/component changed would be very helpful. Thanks!

Thank you very much for your help!
Removing resistor R19 solved the problem completely.
My Waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-LCD-4.3 (non-B) is now working perfectly as a USB Host with the ToneX One.
The controller powers the ToneX One correctly, detects it immediately, the touchscreen works, the footswitch changes between the presets, and I can control the effects (Delay, Reverb and Modulation) exactly as expected.
I really appreciate your guidance. I had spent several days investigating the hardware before opening this issue, and your reply pointed me directly to the correct modification.
Hopefully this information will also help other people using the non-B board.
