Screen recording fails with "Recording can't keep up with screen capture" error on Microsoft Edge

When attempting to record my screen using Cap, the recording fails with the following error dialog:

Task 'screen_capture' failed: Recording can't keep up with screen capture. Try reducing your display's resolution or refresh rate.

This happens specifically when I open Cap on Microsoft Edge.

• Operating system, version: Windows 11 (24H2)

Windows capture cadence and encoder handling have been substantially reworked since this was reported. This specific issue is believed resolved, please re-test on the latest version and open a fresh issue with logs if recording still can't keep up.
