Unfortunately, a fully functional API client cannot be implemented in a pure client-side web app due to browser security restrictions — specifically CORS (Cross-Origin Resource Sharing).

When a browser makes a cross-origin request, the target server must explicitly allow it via CORS headers. In practice, most APIs (especially internal or in-development ones) don't include these headers, so the browser will block the request entirely. Requests with custom headers like Authorization also trigger a preflight (OPTIONS) check, making this even more restrictive.

Other browser-level limitations include:

• Cannot set certain HTTP headers (Host, Origin, etc.)
• Cannot skip TLS certificate validation (common need for local dev)
• Cannot inspect low-level details like DNS resolution or TCP timing

This is why tools like Postman, Insomnia, and HTTPie work as desktop apps or CLIs — they operate outside the browser sandbox.

That said, if you're looking for a solid set of client-side developer tools that do work well in the browser (JSON formatting, hashing, encoding, network calculators, etc.), I've been maintaining next-tools — a heavily refactored fork with 120+ tools, a rebuilt UI using shadcn/ui, and real i18n support across all tools.

I think willjayyyy is just another AI Bot. There are way too many of these around right now in pretty much every Platform.

It's not a real Fork (cannot see previous contributions), huge initial Commit done by sheweijie in December 2025, etc.

I wouldn't trust it before proper Audit 👎.
