Bluetooth LED timeout stops responding after extended idle time

Describe the Bug

When connected via Bluetooth and the LED timeout turns off the backlighting, leaving the keyboard idle for an extended period (approximately 10 minutes or more) causes the LEDs to stop waking up. Pressing any key does not turn the LEDs back on or reset the timeout timer.

The only visual feedback observed is that the highlight layer changing feature briefly illuminates the corresponding layer LED. Toggling the LEDs manually using the designated key shortcut has no effect. The only workaround is to power cycle the keyboard (turning it off and on again).

Note: This has not been tested in wired mode due to the higher timer threshold (60 minutes), but the behavior may be identical.

Expected Behavior

Pressing any key should turn the LEDs back on immediately and reset the idle timer under all conditions.

Hi! Thank you for reporting.

This is a known bug that we're working on. It's related to "highlight layer change" being enabled. If you disable it, you should not see it.

This bug also prevents LED on/off from working on a secondary layer.

Finally, have you tried pressing the LED toggle key on the main layer? It should bring back the LEDs without having to power-cycle the keyboard.

I didn’t try to use the LED toggle key on L1. This key is on another layer.

Meanwhile, I disabled highlight layer change as recommended.
