Black Hole suddenly stopped working

Hi,

I’ve used BlackHole for years on three different MacBooks — it always worked great. But recently, audio just stopped recording during screen captures. No idea why.

I tried everything: reinstalled, removed and re-added devices, followed all forum advice — still no sound. I even waited weeks thinking it was a bug that would get fixed, but nothing changed.

Seems like the issue is only on my end. Any ideas? Would appreciate help!

That offline device is my MOTU M2, it’s my main audio interface, and I use it daily for work. When everything was working fine, I was switching between it and the built-in speakers for output without issues

The problem isn’t with audio output, sound plays back normally. The issue is that screen recordings simply don’t contain any audio

What's the volume level / mute of BlackHole?
