photo attachments in Messenger sent to iPhones not delivered

I sent a recent photograph to a number of friends from my Android, Moto G phone. Those who had android-based phones received the photograph. Those who have iPhones did not. Do I need to change a setting at my end, or is it an iPhone issue? TIA

There are many MMS related issues, but this one sounds like an iPhone issue.

Have you tried sending the same message using another messaging app like Google Messages? Does it work then?

Yes, they have been received in the past, using Google Messages, but I am trying to migrate away from Google. :-) Thanks.

Someone suggested I check out RCS, which was unfamiliar to me. I found this link helpful.
