Blank screen after phone screen broke

Please help. I'm really desperate. My only son died of suicide. I used Signal app to chat with him. I was not able to transfer those chats before I lost screen access. I would really appreciate if someone can help

I had scrcpy setup and working on my Samsung A53 for a while. Recently my phone screen got broken, it was in state where I can see that the screen is on due to some light showing on the cracked screen, but it was completely unreadable and I was not able to swipe the screen even to unlock the phone.

Luckily I had adb debugging enabled and scrcpy working before this happend. I was able to control the phone with that for few days, unlock and start transferring data to another phone. Few days ago the display completely went out. Now it is dark with no lights. The phone is still on and I can hear the google voice number ring when I call it.

Now when I connect to it with scrcpy I get a blank screen. I can connect with adb shell command. When I do "adb shell ps" I can see everything running on it but can't see anything on scrcpy via my computer anymore.

hello, saw the sensitive "s" word and genuinely want to help, but I can't really help solving the scrcpy related issue regarding the screen out. I do know hardware trick as my Samsung OS phone also have the same problem. broken screen. If you have any HDMI cable or maybe VGA cable that can connect into the Samsung A53 phone using a type C cable converter , a cable hub / connector that have HDMI/VGA port, display output either by type C cable or HDMI/VGA straight into a display monitor (you can try your PC monitor or TV too or just standalone monitor) and a port that connect to the mouse and keyboard assuming you can't get into the phone to turn and access the bluetooth on so you have to use mouse cable keyboard). And if you have access to connecting the device( mouse and keyboard) into the phone then you can try connecting it too bluetooth by direct if not then use the cable. Last step is to actually connect the hub or whatever you might called it, into the display monitor. (sometimes its register as normal OS remoting its display on the display monitor, or it can be Samsung Dex mode). This is not sponsored

I truly appreciate you taking the time to try to help and also for having the kindness to understand my situation. Unfortunately only certain Samsung models support HDMI out via USB-C. I already tried your solution before I posted here with an Anker 5-in-1 hub that has HDMI out, but my phone Samsung A53 doesn't support that feature. If I misunderstood something here please feel free to let me know. Thank you again for your response!

Gotcha, no problem. I notice that you have already enabled the USB Debugging so i hope you can use scrcpy for ease or you can go to a Samsung repair shop or other option is backup the data to a new samsung device (better go directly into a samsung official shop and get help by the staff there if possible). I did a quick ask using Artificial Intellegence using my own Perplexity's subsciption but it kinda private(location leaked) so let me know by replying in this issues when you are done with it. Hello @fadelfffar, thank you for all the help. I saved the information from Perplexity to a PDF file in case I need it later. It has very good information. I found a fairly cheap ($20) digitizer screen replacement for my phone on e-bay. Only requirement is steady hands and good eyesight, which is a challenge at my age but at that price point I'm willing to give it a try. I have ordered the parts and waiting for it to arrive. I will post here how that goes if I can get the acrcpy to work after replacing the digitizer. At that point I don't even care if the digitizer is not working 100% for input as long as I can see the screen and control it from scrcpy. Should I close this issue now or keep it open till I post my recovery efforts? Please let me know your thoughts

Awesome! I will make the Perplexity chat log private then, knowing you already save it (just to make the personalization algorithm better). Regarding the closing of the issue, in the hope of someone having similar issues as you also that Artificial Intelligence can crawl the information if someone having similar issues like you, it would be wise to just open it until the main contributors of scrcpy said otherwise. Also keep me posted on the story, would love to heard your story on this I'm not intends to offend you in anyway, sorry for bad grammar but i hope you understand

@fadelfffar, No problem. You have a good point. I will keep the issue open. Also, I thought I had the Perplexity document printed but when I checked it today I noticed it only printed the first page. Sorry to trouble you again but do you know how I can print the entire document? or if you can print it to PDF and send it via direct message if possible.
