Custom homepage with post previews? Persona theme

Hiya! Im using the persona theme, and I'd like to make custom homepage content, but also have the dynamic view of my post previews and titles. I can't seem to get a way to add a 'section' for my post previews - is there a way to do it?

I'm just trying to add some text, a table, a few images and a few lines of CSS/HTML. But after that, it'd be nice to have the list of posts just as the theme has it here:

I don't have the Theme and app open right now, but I assume that the Theme Options have a hero text section with a WYSIWYG text box, right? The one where you would edit the stock "A simple, modern looking theme for your blog or portfolio website."

Are you able to do the following:

• create a new post with the WYSIWYG Editor,
• add in the elements you mentioned wanting (text, table, images, etc.),
• go to the Source Code view of the editor (toolbar button at the bottom-right),
• copy the content,
• go back to the Theme Setting hero text box, and click on the Source Code button
• paste the contents
• save and preview

Again, I don't have the app open, so I'm going by memory, but I assume that might work? Otherwise, you'll need to do some slight tweaks to your theme files in a separate text editor.

Hm that seems to work in theory, but I've got a bug JSON error (attached below). Is this really the only way?

Update, that seems to only work on the preview. My margins and images are all off though, this certainly isn't an ideal way to workaround this.

Your options would be to:

1. Modify the CSS so that it looks the way you want it to.

2. Tweak your site's input theme file. Previous theme(s) versions included a Theme Option where you could pick between a post or post listings for your homepage, and you could remove the conditional logic in the index.hbs and theme options in config.json to display both. It looks like Publii changed the way this either/or option works in v.0.46.x, so I'm not sure how to do this now...

3. "Hardcode" the elements you want to display to your index.hbs

4. Create a Page template which includes post listing syntax (similar to the one in index.hbs)

I see - thanks for helping! One last thing though - is there no parser function or code block I can add to my HTML that can show the post list?

Not inside the the Publii GUI, no. It has to be added to one of your handlebars (.hbs) theme files using a text editor (like VS Code, Notepad, etc.)
