This is amazing, However a core functionality of making the video fill, zoom or fit in the device screen seems to be missing. Please add it at your earliest convenience. Thanks & Regards.

With Material You enabled the search bar turns red when searching for a video instead of matching the dynamic colors. Looks like it keeps the default color

Thank you very much for these improvements and for your work! In this version, video playback no longer restarts from the beginning after switching Android users. However, some useful features from previous versions are no longer available. I have opened issues for the corresponding features.

I installed PipePipe via Obtainium (current version: 1.2.7 dev.imranr.obtainium.fdroid).

Maybe someone knows about this quirk:

To install the "5.0 Beta2" version I activated "include prereleases"-toggle for PipePipe in Obtainium. But the "5.0 Beta2" update doesn't show up to be available when Obtainium fetches new updates...

Is there anything I can or need to do differently in order to install the 5.0 Beta 2 version update with Obtainium?

You need to set "Sort Method: Name smart".

I had to add PipePipe a second time aa it wouldn't just let me update to the Beta version.
Setting the Sort Method to "Name (smart)"
and also deactivating the "Verify the 'latest' tag"-switch did the trick in end.
Now I have both the stable and the Beta version releases installed parallelly.

@thanatits , we appreciate the feedback, but multiple separate comments like these tend to clutter the thread and don't aid in efficient issue resolution.

Some of these issues appear to stem from Beta 1—please confirm if you're on Beta 2.

If they persist, kindly open a single dedicated issue consolidating all details, including repro steps,expected results, and screenshots. This helps us address them properly.

Hey, the new themes look really good. However I can't find how to set my content language and region. I used that functionality to learn a language through content. Thank you very much for your work , you're doing great!

I noticed the hamburger menu (which opens up a side panel from the left side, and let's you choose between the diffetent streaming services {YouTube, SoundCloud, media.ccc.de, PeerTube and between it's configured instances, Bandcamp, BiliBili, NicoNico) from the top left corner is gone in the 5.0 Beta 2 version.
Please bring it back in the 5.0 version! It's dearly needed!

I use PipePipe for all of the different streaming services regularly (except BiliBili and NicoNico which I both use very rarely [maybe 3-4 times during the last year]). I watch PeerTube and YouTube daily.
If I look for new music I use PipePipe to search between YouTube, Bandcamp and SoundCloud. And I make music playlists for different genres and topics that include tracks from all 3 services. It's very useful to find new music and artists that are often not on YouTube due to censorship and shadow-banning, deplatforming or demonitarization.

Just increase the kbps and Hz, and you can also use the FLAC audio format (lossless format or use higher-quality OPUS decoding.)

Thank you for the great work. I have a suggestion. I had to dig through the settings to add the What's New feed to my tabs. I feel that this should be there by default for a better user experience as the main reason I use YouTube is to see the new content from my subscriptions, and this might be the same for many users.

There is a BUG.
When I exit a video I am watching, if I then click on another video, upon exiting it will return to the previous video's page. The number of stored playback pages determines how many exit pages there are (it is random; sometimes there are more, sometimes fewer).
I hope this can be fixed as soon as possible. Thank you.

I've noticed this too, it's a major bug and they must work on it. I hope it's solved in 5.0. Or maybe it is a feature, which could be improved.

Is there hope even partial import from newpipe to be possible again? like for playlists, subscriptions and history? Being able to switch between the forks is very useful as it's not predictable which will still work in the long run.
