🐞 Bug - Can't get past Windows SmartScreen

Describe the bug

Whenever I try to open any of the programs, I get a SmartScreen alert that Windows blocked the program from running. Whenever I say open anyways, the program still doesn't start. I tried manually unblocking the EXE files, but even after giving the admin password I'm told I don't have the needed permissions.

Steps to reproduce

1. Enable Rebound
2. Enable any of the mods
3. Wait for them to install
4. Try to open it from start menu... for me it will open the SmartScreen window
5. Click more options -> run anyways - it will fail to open.
6. Try again and the screen reappears

Alternatively:

1. Open run dialog (the default run dialog will still appear)
2. Type winver (or control or any of the other ones it intercepts)
3. Nothing appears, not even the SmartScreen window.

Expected behavior

Apps to open, and remember when I click yes on the error.

Honestly, no clue where the issue is... if this is the app or it's Windows. I just am looking for any help that someone could offer on how to fix it, or if I just need to turn of SmartScreen somehow.

Update: finally got past SmartScreen by uninstalling, then using powershell to recursively unblock the installer folder. However, after reinstalling and restarting the programs just won't launch.

Try moving the installer and files to a different location

• maybe directly in your user folder, instead of downloads
• I suggest preserving the installer and related files on the device after installation.

When installing, use another browser. Do not use Edge.
Edge sometimes tags files suspicious. Which then may trigger windows security and smartscreen.

Run and the Shutdown dialogue require rebound shell host and rebound shell to be running in background. Try running them manually. There's a possibility that they crashed.

If they do not run, try repairing these components within "Rebound Hub"

Yes. I had set non-Unicode programs to use Japanese at one point to get a program not to display gibberish, but I disabled that before installing this app. I do have a few language packs installed (Japanese and Chinese) for the keyboard layouts, but they’ve never been set as my system language.
