In CMIP7 a particular grid label will be associated with an actual horizontal grid specification. For each model we will need;

• Atmosphere T points
• Atmosphere U points
• Atmosphere V points
• river routing?
• Ocean T points (includes grid-W as these have the same horizontal grid)
• Ocean U points
• Ocean V points

I'm not 100% clear on where zonal means will fit into the above

Will likely need to adapt mappings repo to associate a grid with each issue.
