Problem description:
After installing VMware Workstation 26H1, WSA fails to start with the following error message:
"Windows Subsystem for Android™ cannot start. The Windows Subsystem for Android™ cannot run because critical files are missing from the installation folder."
This error persists even after:
1.Running sfc /scannow (found and repaired corrupted system files)
2.Running DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth (completed successfully)
3.Fully uninstalling WSA via Get-AppxPackage WindowsSubsystemForAndroid | Remove-AppxPackage
4.Manually deleting all WSA folders:
1）C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\MicrosoftCorporationII.WindowsSubsystemForAndroid_*
2）$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Packages\MicrosoftCorporationII.WindowsSubsystemForAndroid_*
3）C:\Windows\System32\WSA
5.Enabling all required Windows virtualization features (Hyper-V, Virtual Machine Platform, Windows Hypervisor Platform)
6.The error persists even after reinstalling WSA.
Additional context:
1.Before installing VMware Workstation 26H1, WSA was working perfectly
2.The issue only appeared after VMware 26H1 installation
3.Hyper-V is currently enabled (required for WSA)
4.systeminfo | findstr "Hyper-V" shows Hyper-V requirements are met
5.After installing and running VMware Workstation 26H1, Kaspersky on the PC keeps popping up "Blocked" and shows that it is a Trojan program
I am considering whether to uninstall VMware 26H1, but it would be very troublesome and take a lot of my time. If WSA still reports the same error after uninstalling VMware 26H1, that would be really frustrating.
Steps to reproduce the issue
1.Install WSA
2.Install VMware Workstation 26H1
3.After installing and running VMware Workstation 26H1, Kaspersky on the PC keeps popping up "Blocked" and shows that it is a Trojan program
4.Restart the computer, WSA fails to run
Expected behaviour
WSA is running normally.
