Access Lists

so im having an issue where when i setup basic access lists in npm with just a username and password, its asking for them twice. for example, i have it setup for overseerr and when i sign in and after hitting enter it redirects to mydomain/login where it then asks for the access list user and pass again. how do i prevent this?
