Cannot decrypt message

Hi,
Thanks for your work to migrate this extension to Mailspring.
I can encrypt messages OK but cannot decrypt them.
When I press the "Decrypt attachment" button, I see the following errors in the console :
-1546865767333.log
-1546865754149.log
-1546865742501.log

It seemed related to a "password popup" but I can,'t tell much.
Any idea on how to solve this ?

I see the message when you don't have private key in your key's store. It still cannot decrypt message with key generate by plugin. I will debug for more infomation.

Thanks for quick reply :-)
I can now see a small popup for the key password.
It behave OK, telling me 'incorect' for a wrong password and disappearing for a correct password.
However, the message is still not decrypted.
Two messages in the console :
-1546939360170.log
-1546939337220.log

I guess the problem comes from the password in the GPG key.
I hadn't got the chance to test with a GPG key that is not password protected though...

I just rename FileDownloadStore to AttachmentStore because name's changed in mailspring. Please try again

the problem only has occured when you have encrypted emails with attachments, the method will decrypt and save your file on local disk.

Thanks, you are making good progress.

The attachment is now downloaded but still not decrypted :-(
The extension cannot find a GPG key (not specifying if it is the sender's or mine...). I double checked and I have both the sender public key and my private key imported...
The log :

Also, speaking of encrypted email with attachment : when I encrypt a message (both with Mailspring and Thunderbird Enigmail), Mailspring always shows it as an attachment, whereas Thunderbird shows the decrypted text in the message body. Not a big deal though if i can decrypt the attachments...

I'll try to make some more testing with keys generated directly in Mailspring extension and will report here.

I found that the attachment was not encrypted by Mailspring. I will try with thunderbird and look into it more

I tested it worked flawlessly, it can decrypt and save on local disk.
make sure that sender encrypted with your public key, and you have private key to decrypt it.

Hi,
I did a couple of testing between Mailspring and Thunderbird Enigma :

• From Mailspring to Mailspring : Message encrypt and decrypt nicely. I couldn't encrypt attachments though
• From Mailspring to Thunderbird : Message is decrypted but shows oddly with html tags visible. Display warning because attachment (a png image) is not encrypted. Note that html editing should be disabled when using PGP encryption because of security breach https://efail.de
• From Thunderbird to Mailspring : Message shows as an attachment. It can be decrypted and downloaded to disk as a .txt file but is not displayed in Mailspring interface. Encrypted attachments (a png image added in Thunderbird) is not shown in Mailspring and not downloaded when I ask Mailspring to Decrypt and Download all attachments.

Well, not that bad, but still barely usable.

I know you just took the initiative to transfer this plugin from Nylas to Mailspring. From that point of view, I would say the job is well done !
(I can only suppose that the caveats I point out where also present in the original Nylas plugin).
