Kernel stuck on restarting

First off, thanks for this amazing library! I've been using it a lot the last few months

However I've had this issue where if I restart the kernel from jupyterlab once or twice it gets stuck on restarting (see picture). I can usually get it running again by some combination of restarting the kernel and/or restarting the blender app but it usually takes many tries, and I haven't found a way to restore it consistently. Restarting jupyterlab also doesn't seem to help

Any ideas what the problem could be? I'm using blender 3.1.2 and I ran blender_notebook install with python 3.10, jupyter lab version 3.1.13
