When going from 359 degrees to 001 degrees heading the data smoothing that was added causes the compass animations to "wrap" around the wrong way for the time length of the smoothing (very quickly) .. It results in a visual that is distracting because it shows a left turn for a split second while you are in fact in a right turn...
Its possible the pitch will do the same thing while in a loop. But there are other strange things that happen when the pitch tries to wrap from 89, 90 , 89 again (aircraft pointed straight up) . This would be a less commonly seen visual animation flaw because people dont do loops constantly or at all.
We could just turn off data smoothing for compass/heading information...
