Style ListItem numbering character (e.g. color)

I can't seem to find a way to style (color, weight, etc) the ListItem numbering character (i.e. bullet point). NumberingStyle's levels only allow to provide paragraphStyle.

Is there a way to achieve this?

6 years later - have run into the same problem. I still cannot see any way to do this.

I have defined a numbering style based on the default bullet style like so:

I would have thought that simply adding a 'color' key to this style array would do the trick in the same way as done for font styles.

If I add a color to the font style used for the list item it instead colors the whole line but excludes the bullet.

I have the same problem, I would like the numbering to have the same styling as the text from the list, but I don't know how to achieve it

Possible solution is to modify method writeFont in \PhpOffice\PhpWord\Writer\Word2007\Part\Numbering

Then in our code there is possibility to set new styles and connect with numbering character styles

In 2024 on 1.2.0 phpword version problem still exists:

Listitem numbering character got font-size 10px, and font-family Arial, and cant change that...
