Extension not working with most recent version of chrome

The chrome extension does not work with the most recent version of google meet.
Nothing is displayed on top of the people list as shown in the screenshots.

That is my experience as well. I note that the layout I see is different than the screenshots, so presumably HTML changes have caused trouble. The code is pretty straightforward, so I think somebody with more experience of HTML/JS could get it working again quickly.
