Anyone have ideas on where to hold this? I can help contact potential bars or other venues but have no idea where to start. I've been very removed from the bar scene for the past couple of years :).

How many people should we expect/plan for? I'm a fan of Monk's, and I think they have a fair amount of space, but I'm not sure they do reservations. I know Nodding Head is also in center city.

I just sent emails asking about space for a group happy hour to Fergies (also includes Nodding Head, Monks, and a couple of others), Good Dog, Black Sheep. Will keep you all posted. Any other ideas for space please chime in!

Good Dog: Party Packages is probably more than what we're looking for. They have said we could just come to their 3rd floor space, not private, and people would have to get drinks from downstairs bar. If we got sponsorship it would be nice to pay for the first 15 or so people's drinks but Good Dog doesn't do drink tickets so there isn't an easy way to manage this.

Grace Tavern (part of Fergies family) emailed be back asking more details about what we're doing. I replied and am waiting to hear back again.

Free stuff is always nice, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. IMHO the important aspects are a decent drinks menu, room to move around and mingle and the ability to hear conversations.

I've only eaten at the bar at Good Dog and haven't been to Grace Tavern. They both look OK to me but I'm not sure how big Grace Tavern is.

Also just sent a message to American Sardine Bar since PhillyPUG held an event there in Dec. 2013. If anyone else has other ideas please let me know.
