PostgREST version on README or GIT-version

Problem

This is a problem for Docker users, that need some README or notice or link about version; a communication problem at the Docker pages: https://hub.docker.com/r/postgrest/postgrest/ or https://github.com/PostgREST/postgrest/tree/main/nix/tools/docker.

Users are looking for clear and concise notice about image content before install: the version of the PostgREST that will be created by that Docker-image.

Add as GIT RELEASE or in some place like the README

Hm, are the versions listed on https://hub.docker.com/r/postgrest/postgrest/tags not enough? I don't think we can pin a version on the README since we offer multiple.

Yes, what you're saying makes sense: in the instant that I do docker pull postgrest/postgrest, it get a the "fresher PostgREST", right?
So, if no synchronization problem, we can say in the README:
  "The docker pull command will install the latest official version, listed at https://github.com/PostgREST/postgrest/releases "

I'm not sure what you're asking for. Pulling whatever the "latest" version is when doing docker pull postgrest/postgrest is the default on docker hub - for literally everything. Right?

Could you point to another project on dockerhub that does what you want us to do for clarification?

Yes:

• is a link to the version; a link is a minimal communication snippet, has no cost at README. Case/rationale:
  When my boss says "please build a Docker with PostgREST version 13",
  I must check the version (by the link) before running docker pull.
• it is a confirmation that the docker is using the correct "official version", not the git-main branch or an old version, or another git.
• It's a good reinforcement to say that Docker-image doesn't cache a previous version, nor does it have a delay to apply a new version.

You missed to answer my question. I have no idea what you want to do. Can you link an example where they already do it?

The way I read this issue:

• Currently the README is unclear as it only mentions installation with the binary releases. It'd be better to link to the installation docs, which are more complete.
• Probably doesn't hurt to add an example of how to use a particular version with docker
