Colored particles do not generally have a speed associated with them, also, this plugin is not meant to be used as a generic particle API. What exactly are you referring to?

The PParticle builder does already allow editing the speed along with the color data. Can you elaborate on what you want?
edit: while the builder does accept a speed, I guess it isn't actually used for colored particles. I don't think the speed parameter does anything for any colored particles though. Do you know of any colored particles that are actually influenced by the speed variable?
