We've had him copy the assignment so he can see the hidden prefix and suffix (helps him to help students debug their code)

If what you are asking for is that your TA can edit the exercises you have created, then the solution to that going forward is to create a username that you share with the TAs so that you can all use the same username for editing and creating assignments.
