i ended up manually configuring the extension from the patched code.... not sure why it should take that long to update such a critical bug.

Tried using this for the first time but ran into this issue. :( Quite a shame because it seems a perfect solution for me. Is there a known workaround for this? Or an ETA on its patch??

In the meantime if you would like to install the extension, you can do so manually....

Step 1: Pull the tagged PR version of this software from here #41
Step 2: npm install
Step 3: Ensure you have the Firebase CLI installed (https://firebaseopensource.com/projects/firebase/firebase-tools/)
Step 4: mkdir _emulator && cd _emulator
Step 5: firebase init
