Timefold compatibility matrix

Hello,

Initially, I was thinking to add this in a specific Issue, but I want to see first if it is a good idea.

I am working in academic project where I use an older version of Timefold (v1.9.0). These days I was working into updating Java and Spring Boot version to a newer version (let’s say 4.0.6). I received an error and I saw in the Integration section that I have to upgrade Timefold.

I would like to have a compatibility Matrix of Timefold version with other frameworks/programming version as a separate section (8. Compatibility Matrix) so that it would be easier to track the configuration I should have in pom.xml for instance.

What do you think? I can also help with that if I have enough input regardingg the compatibility versions. Thanks!

Not a bad idea. IIRC, its:

• Timefold 1.x supports Quarkus 3 and Spring Boot 3 and Java 17 and 21
• Timefold 2.x supports Quarkus 3 and Spring Boot 4 and Java 21 and 25

Can you add in that PR a modification to contributing markdown file where it is explained how to build the html and replace ./mvnw clean install with ../mvnw clean install? If I use the former, I get “no such file or directory ./mvnw” error (I used this on zsh on mac), but, if I use the latter one, everything is good.

@PatrickDiallo23 , i also use zsh and that command is fine. Are you in the root directory when you execute it? ../ makes it seem like you are in a subdirectory (core maybe?)

When I executed the command, I was in docs subdirectory as stated in the markdown file to build only docs (I wanted to see how the html is generated.
