Tribler 8.1.1, referring to the screenshot below I believe this may be occurring due to the hash checking taking place on Tribler start-up. It seems to coincide when, "Check torrent after completion", has been enabled and Tribler has started and completed.

This is correct. A torrent does not start uploading or downloading while it is being hashchecked.

Ah, that is not correct then. Could you try stopping and starting the downloads when this happens? I have the feeling they may be secretly stopped.

Tribler is currently hash checking for the nth time. I'll leave it for a few hours to complete and if it does it again will test.

FYI even after hash checks on some of the files are complete Tribler picks up peers. I don't sit around for hours watching hash checks complete, some time between when Tribler starts hash checking and when I come back hours later, after hash checking is all finished, Tribler is showing 0 seeds and 0 peers.

I can only put the cause of this down to the hash checking because when, "Check torrent after completion", is disabled it has not happened.

I've restarted Tribler a few dozen times (I haven't been counting) using the "check after completion" but, so far, I've not been able to trigger this behavior.

This might be because I'm running on the recent code of #8505. As soon as the status goes out of "Loading 0%", I get peers and traffic.

I'll keep trying.

I checked just now and hash checking was all complete and Tribler had seeds and peers in the list. All looked to be working fine.

I have disabled hash checking and restarted Tribler to see if it occurs without it enabled. I will report back if it does.

Similar thing here and I never had Checking after download turned on.
When it starts, there are plenty of peers, but in a minute or two, it's all zeros.
I turned it on and rebooted just in case, but still all zeros.

Oddly enough, if I start a new DL, I will have peers and my Speed up will populate but as soon as it's done, the speed up goes to zero. I have unlimited seeding turned on.

I have 8.1.2 that I Installed in Linux over 8.0.7.

If it is, close down Tribler, make a backup (if you want to keep restore it) of and then delete, "configuration.json", and restart Tribler.

All your settings will be back to default, your torrent data and history will still be all there. In Tribler configure your settings back to how they were.

I had another issue and tried deleting the config file, even with hash checking enabled, since then I have not had this recur. I can't say for sure this resolved it, only that it has not happened since.

I have no clue how the configuration file would cause this, nor how removing it would fix this. However, I guess we can now, at least, confidently say this is a bug.
