The upper panel is called the launch bar and it is already configurable.

Is there an option to disable the launch bar? Also, is it possible to drag the calendar to the right side panel?

Is there an option to disable the launch bar?

The launch bar is a core navigation mechanism for Trilium, so it's not possible to disable it.
If you need to focus without distractions you could try Zen Mode, which works on the latest betas (Alt+Z).
Is there a reason you would like to get rid of it?

Also, is it possible to drag the calendar to the right side panel?

Unfortunately, it is not.
