Describe feature

Hi,

A useful feature for using the text notes as some sort of "Log" would be to have a quick way to add a timestamp.
E.g. I like taking notes of random tasks that pop up, when talking to colleagues – and I like timestamping them to be able to have some chronological idea of when I added them.
currently I need to manually type out the date into the text note.

Being able to just add it at a button's click would be a great addition for use cases like these :-)

@pano9000 , there is already an insert timestamp function, however it’s only present as a keyboard shortcut instead of a UI button.

It’s Alt-T.

ah, you're right – should've taken a better look at the Shortcuts window :-)
thanks!

However I can see some potential for improvements for this feature, e.g. being able to set a custom time format:
e.g. I guess it would be nice for some peope to also have the seconds in the timestamp, or potentially have the timestamp in their "localized" format, etc.

Could be something for a future feature maybe

I second #pano900 , a little more customization for the timestamp would be perfect , a way to remove the hour and possibility for European timestamp as we use dd-mm-yyyy over the atlantic.
