What do you think about long pressing to set the home position. This allows you to move the curtain to home manually and then hold and set to zero. Additionally, press 7 time to star homing. That's how I used to do it, but with 2 clicks, which I didn't like for the reason you mentioned. But 7 should fix that. |

I just tested 2.6.0: button holds to move to a desired position work well, 7 taps to start homing works, double hold to set the current position as home works, and it stops as expected if pushed while moving. Thank you for the quick turn around! |

I also added the ability to update the firmware over HTTP so now it’ll pull and apply new firmware from the repo once you tell it to update. The firmware version and button are located toward the bottom of the config screen. On Jun 24, 2026, at 6:52 PM, kg333 ***@***.***> wrote:

Uh oh!

Holding Button 1 for 3 seconds and accidentally triggering homing, or holding button 2 for 3 seconds and resetting the device, is likely to happen with children/elderly/other technologically-challenged people trying to operate the Ropener.
Being able to disable these options from being triggered by buttons would be helpful. Alternatively, the sequence could be more difficult to activate: for example, many smart bulbs or smart switches use 7-10 presses in quick succession to trigger a factory reset.
