What happens if Ropener loses power? #19
|
For Ropener, what happens during a power outage? Does the curtain stay in place, or is there a manual override / self-locking mechanism to keep it from moving? |

There is no locking mechanism, and it's very hard to move by hand. The Ropener continuously saves its curtain position to onboard memory, so after a power outage it remembers exactly where it was and picks up right where it left off, no resetting needed. In the rare case the rope gets pulled by hand while the power's off, a quick one-touch re-home button instantly recalibrates it. |

Awesome, thanks for pointing this out as well. I even found another bug that had broken OTA updates so I appreciate you letting me know. Someone just asked if this worked on tracked curtains and I don’t know because I don’t have them and never tested on them. If you ever want, feel free to email me some photos of your setup, particularly how you attached the carriages and the end pulley. You can send them to daniel at valarsystems.comThanks again!-Daniel On Jul 12, 2026, at 3:08 PM, clmitchell84 ***@***.***> wrote:
Thanks, that fixed it so that it persists. Also, the reversed / normal language with the arrow is much more intuitive to me, so thanks for that. Great project! I’m really pleased with how it works and that it works for my track curtains. Thanks again!
