At Cloudfest there is a dedicated effort to improve extendability of the Enable Mastodon Apps plugin, with the first step taken in #70 to make enhancing endpoints more robust.

Here are some ideas for addition plugins that could make use of those new filters:

When the app has been used for the first time (Mastodon_App::get_current_app()), inject an explanatory status at the top.
Pretend that superheros follow you and post content in your timeline.
When favouriting a status, post a request to an external API, for example Zapier, so that an external action can be triggered.
