@dmalik16 instead of adding another package you could just use the cgcreate. Unlike cpulimit with cgroups you can specify how much CPU time, system memory, network bandwidth, or combinations of these resources can be used by the processes residing in a certain group.

Bringing back deprecated packages is a step backwards when AL2023 provides better options. For the record I'm not associated with AWS.

For this functionality, we're pointing customers towards using the features of systemd for resource control, including systemd-run for ad-hoc process launching and resource control. We've added some documentation around getting started with it in the User Guide in the Limiting process resource usage in AL2023 using systemd section.

So, I'll close this issue as something we're not going to work on, and point to the systemd functionality on resource control which delivers the same (well, larger) feature set.
