I recently came across the "User Permissions for Service Providers" documentation and I'm unclear on how it affects existing developers. I already have a registered SP-API application and an active developer account.

Do I need to re-register as a developer, or will my existing developer account remain valid?

There is no need to register as a developer again. You just need to migrate.
