Window resizing choppy or hangs on macOS Tahoe

Actual behavior

Emacs window resizing works fine from right or bottom edge, or bottom-right corner. When trying with left or top edge, or top-left corner, resizing is choppy (jumps several row/column sizes at once), or completely unresponsive.

Definitely a macOS Tahoe problem: all fine on macOS Sequoia.

Emacs version

29.4 - but older releases exhibit the problem.

Operating system

macOS Tahoe 26.4.1.

Most likely to be issue with macOS port of Emacs rather than Prelude.
