Maintenance status? #356

Hello 👋
I am evaluating Rust libraries for MariaDB. mysql_async looks good from a feature stand point, but I have concerns about its maintenance status.
What is the current maintenance status of this library? Is this worked on as part of a larger project? How many maintainers are there? Is more help needed/wanted?
The reason why I'm asking this question is that I see many older issues or PRs without a reply. Some of them are fixing important issues or provide API improvements.
