Teams MCP Server Use with Squad

Has anyone gotten a Teams MCP server working with Squad for notifications yet? I was looking over the docs, and they don't quite make sense, so I'm guessing that they might have been generated via AI given title says official MCP server and then links to a demo app for a Court Listener MCP that has a Teams bot, so not quite the official thing.

@msquibb I came to same conclusion yesterday about the docs being ahead of the actual codebase. The concept they described seemed reasonable, but I couldn't find any of the example JS files referenced in those MCP tools.

I haven't noticed my squad using it heavily, but it does work when I ask them to explicitly in a prompt.
Interesting concept for longer running work where I want a mobile notification once they need something from me!

I'm not sure this belongs in the Squad codebase itself, but if others find useful perhaps the JS files could be referenced externally somehow?

The biggest reason I was really wanting to get that particular Option B MCP server to work is that I was hoping to be able to get it to send normal chat messages to specific chat groups, not just channel webhooks. I know something like that is possible, since I've been able to do it with flows within ServiceNow, but just not specifically with an MCP server.

Thank you for confirming my suspicions about the docs, though! I might see if I can find the free time and maybe cobble together an Azure Functions MCP server that can handle that kind of communication. I've been looking for something to build in that space for a bit anyway.

The docs for this item mention a JSON file I never saw get dropped to disk, tbh. I will make sure to test this end-to-end and update the doc once we get the big TypeScript changes we have coming (aka huge improvements) into the public repo.

Thanks for digging into this, @msquibb! You're right that the documentation needs updating here — we've filed a tracking issue to audit the Teams MCP integration end-to-end and refresh the docs.

In the meantime, great find on @benleane83's gist — that working community implementation is a solid reference. We'll make sure the official docs reflect current reality.
