Failed to run example app

Tried running the example ios app, with no luck.
I've built mlc-llm cli from source.
Ran mlc-llm chat -h successfully
Installed Rustup
Ran npx react-native-ai mlc-prepare successfully

I'm getting this XCode error atm

@gabimoncha, did you install Cocoapods? Are the MLC LLM and TVM sources in the correct place so the Xcode iOS project can see them?

yes, it was installed. where should the souces be placed? i have them in a different folder

I have the same error when building an app with react-native-ai. Has anyone found a work-around?

I am a newb when it comes to react-native apps, but am really enjoying learning it. I tried integrating react-native-ai into a plain application I'm building and ran into the 'tvm/ffi/any.h' file not found problem. I found where the file existed in my mlc_llm source folder and updated the node_modules/react-native-ai/react-native-ai.podspec search paths to temporarily try and work around the problem. That seemed to fix the problem of not finding 'tvm/ffi/any.h', but the next build error was that it couldn't find 'tvm/runtime/registry.h' when building LLMEngine.o. I tried looking for 'tvm/runtime/registry.h' in my mlc_llm source directory, but couldn't find the file. I'm not sure, but perhaps I need to use a specific version of mlc_llm? I just cloned the repository and used whatever is the latest. Since I was having problems with integration of react-native-ai into my simple react-native app, I then just cloned the react-native-ai repository and tried to build the example. However, I ran into the same build problems as described above. If it helps, I'm developing on a MacMini M4 machine and running Xcode 16.4. Thanks in advance for any and all help! I would really like to use react-native-ai in my application!

I tried to run the example again. I updated package.json at the root and example levels to use react:19.0.0 and react-native:0.79.2. I also updated LLMEngine.h and LLMEngine.mm to be the same as the latest represented in MLC. I updated react-native-ai.podspec to point to the correct mlc_header_paths represented by the latest MLC version. I then tried to follow the directions to build the example app:

yarn install
cd example/ios; pod install; cd ..
yarn prestart
yarn build:ios

I eventually get a build linker error (I get the same error trying to build directly in Xcode) indicating there are duplicate symbols. Below is a snippet of the errors. I was wondering if you had any suggestions?

Let's make sure we fix all those with migrating to Expo and proper config plugins. For now, feel free to run example-apple, although it only supports on-device Apple LLM and requires iOS 26+.
