this is kind of a "big" step up to a relatively young/new major version of a fundamental component... i would like to wait and see if the fixes are backported to 2.3.x, and if that doesnt happen in the near future, do a good bit of testing of this on our staging servers first before committing to it in prod.

Did a little research on our direct usage of werkzeug (code search): Exception classes, werkzeug.local.LocalProxy, and werkzeug.utils.redirect. LocalProxy ensures global context is thread-local and redirect... redirects. Need to look further into the changelog around these.
