Recently attempted to open Meshlab on computer. I am using a Dell Precision 7710 running Windows 10. The program opens just fine but when I go to File -> Import Mesh the program processes for a few seconds and then immediately crashes/closes down before I can open a mesh. No error report is generated. I further tested this using the commands "File -> Open Project" and "File -> Export Mesh". Both of these also immediately caused the program to crash. Anything that interacts with File Explorer seems to immediately crash. I can still create a new mesh layer.

Opening a file by double-clicking on it directly in File Explorer when it is set to always open .stl/.ply files in Meshlab will cause it to successfully open, though I have not checked if all other functions are working.

I am unsure what is causing this error. I uninstalled Meshlab (originally version 2022) and reinstalled the latest version on my computer, the issue still persists. My computer originally ran Windows 7 or Vista and was upgraded to Windows 10. That is the only thing I could think that could be causing these errors.

This is probably a Qt Bug (see here), and it could be related with some dell software like the backup and recovery application. I don't have a solution/workaround to solve it right now...

Meshlab works fine on my Dell Precision computer though. Why would they be so different?
