We generally recommend setting application_name so that statement statistics can be separated by microservices. There are two separate recommendations we give.

@dbist and @robert-s-lee, changes to the hello world tutorials need to be handled by docs writers. There's complexity to the way those pages are constructed and relationships to external hello world repos. I've therefore closed #6872 and will work on this with my team when there's time. The overall rec to feature app name is really helpful, though. Thank you!
