Ideally you want to integrate the infinitesimal coverage over each pixel square in the surface framebuffer. Say that approximations of these are what antialiasing means.

Switching this to P3. It's possible that more detailed specification is required and if so I will make it happen. But right now it uses an industry term but leaves the details almost entirely to implementers. I intend to revisit this, but for now it's not a change that would break ABI.
