I can't understand why stubbornness doesn't allow setting indent spaces=4!

I've looked at similar issues, and many people have asked for permission to set indent spaces=4 in the issue, but the official response is that they think 2 indents is the best format. So much so that there are a lot of similar requests for help on Stackoverflow, and some people have even forked dart_style repositories to change the code to support indent spaces=4. I really can't understand how hard it is to change the source code of Indent Space, and why do you like to force people to do what they like? Personally, 2 indented characters make my ability to read code significantly less. Every code written belongs to an individual or a company that has its own norms and should not be forced to conform to the so-called mainstream style!
