Hello. I have encountered a problem related to the UAS module, which is currently built into the kernel. This causes disconnections of hard drives connected via SATA-USB cables after about ten minutes. This issue is quite widespread with certain models of cables: https://patchwork.kernel.org/project/linux-usb/patch/[email protected]/ I would like to ask you to consider the possibility of making the UAS module removable from the built-in state so that it can be disabled if necessary. This would significantly simplify the resolution of issues related to SATA-USB cables. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I appreciate your work and hope for your understanding. |

N=1 is not a 'widespread problem' in my book....? If I read the article you're referring to, I read something completely different:
If I would compile UAS as a kernel module, a lot of devices will no longer boot. And even if I would do that, and you would disable that module, those drives will just not work at all anymore. So this link might help instead |
