Why is stack_GET an internal command? #6

Description

For my research, I needed the activity in relation to receiving a certain badge. I had to use users/{ids}/timeline. The only way I could use your wonderful package was:
stackr:::stack_GET("users/9371451/timeline" (See also my answer at Stack Overflow.)

I am still not very experienced in R, but I know that it is not recommended to use

It is typically a design mistake to use ::: in your code since the corresponding object has probably been kept internal for a good reason. Consider contacting the package maintainer if you feel the need to access the object for anything but mere inspection.

What I have done with this question ;-)

So why did you hide this command? (Similar issue with combine_urlwhich I had to use as well.) Or the other way round: What did I not understand resp. what did I wrong?
