M3U handling issue (UTF-8)

When sending an existing M3U file (open with... Dopamine) wjher tracks contain special character (e.g. the German äüö) in either artist name or track title, the track is handled incorrectly. If the same folder is opened in Dopamin, all looks good.

Addition, if the same tracks are accessed from within Dopamin, there is no problem. Only occurs with M3U-files

If I rename the same filelist.M3U to filelist.M3U8 (no changes to the file as such), it works as expected.
Apparently there is a proposal out that in the Mp3/M3U realm, that they no longer distinguish between M3U and M3U8.

Would it be possible to adapt the M3U-Import routine in such a way, that it assumes the M3U is in UTF-8 format?

WinMedia-Player acts just like Dopamine, btw
VLC is able to import and play the file as expected

The M3U is saved in UTF-8 format
