Adding the individual PNG images of the cursors to the repo and updating the .md?
Updating the .md with the base64 encoded PNG of the cursors?
Look for some webfont that can be used as part of the .md file, which has the cursors?
Other suggestions?

@dtriana, the best option is adding the individual PNG images of the cursors to the repo. They can go in the media folder of the dotnet/dotnet-api-docs repo. You can then reference them in the xml file with syntax like:
