Why EmitCompilerGeneratedFiles doesn't save my file

I have that target csproj file:

My source generator has that code:

In the output directory, there are two files, but I expected three. The files present are LoadDataFromExcelAttribute.g.cs and ColumnDescriptionAttribute.g.cs. The source file generated with the ForAttributeWithMetadataName part exists in the IDE, and the code compiles and works. However, it hasn't been saved on disk.

It's rather hard to help troubleshoot with this little information. Have you tried running a dotnet build from the command line? Are there any warnings or other messages from a dotnet build? Can you provide a more complete repro?
