Deploy to Heroku button not playing well with 2FA

The deploy to Heroku button makes it really easy to deploy a boarding page to Heroku, but unfortunately it does not play well with 2FA. There are instructions that show you how to use spaceship to generate a token but that only works if you clone the repository and push to Heroku yourself.

Apparently, Apple IDs created from iOS 10.3 and up can't disable two-factor authentication.
I couldn't get it to work at all.

Heyyyy 👋 2FA makes things really wonky 😱 The recommended option is to create a new developer for your boarding/fastlane stuff that doesn't have 2FA enabled
