Question: Why is Fluentd 1.17.1 the only supported version?

Hi team,

I noticed that the current Fluent Operator Helm chart (and the CRD defaults) still reference Fluentd version 1.17.1 as the supported or default image.

Is there a specific reason why newer Fluentd versions (1.18.x or 1.19.x) are not yet supported or tested?
For example, are there known compatibility issues, API changes, or planned updates to add support for the latest Fluentd releases?

I’d like to understand if it’s safe to upgrade manually to a newer version, or if there are breaking changes that the operator needs to address first.
