How to add floating dock widget to the dock manager, but toggled off

I need to add a new widget to the application, but it state is hidden. If I use regular process:

floatingDock = CDockWidget()
floatingDock.setWidget(myHiddenWidget)
dockMgr.addDockWidgetFloating(floatingDock)
floatingDock.toggleView(False)

When widget is created, it flashes on the screen and then goes away. Could this dock widget be added to the dock manager in closed state, so it don't show up at all?

What's the point of having invisible floating widget? You should instead create the dock when the floating widget is being shown.

I have a graph with objects and each objects could have parameters that have external windows. When objects is added to the graph, it's parameters have to be created. Some of those start with external widgets in hidden state.

Now, I need those created right away, since they can be used even without external widget visible.

That kind of design will only make your application startup slow. Instead you should create the parameter widgets dynamically when the object is selected.

Objects are dynamic and you can choose any of those to create your graph. When they are added, it's parameters have to be created at the same time. That is the place where it would be useful to create those floating docks, but in the closed state. That would be identical to create a regular QWidget and choose not to show it until later, which is how it was implemented so far. Now, we are trying to add Ads and make those widgets dockable to improve user experience, but when dock just flickers on the screen each time it is added, it makes it look unprofessional.

So, after all of this, I am guessing that such a feature is not supported and we were pretty much discussion if this is something to add in the future! How far off this is?

So, I made a workaround for this issue - postponed creation of the CDockWIdget until my widget needs to be visible. It is a bit grainy and it it is not as smooth as I would like, but it is workable. If you could have this feature added in the future, it would help a ton!
